The event itself is a community celebration of Christmas, one where children can have fun in an outdoor safe environment with family and whānau who can take a few hours to sit and relax while listening to great local and national talent. Christmas can be a stressful time of year and Christmas at the Park serves to create a space to enjoy the community spirit, remember the reason for Christmas and breathe!
The event creates 4.5 hours of stage entertainment that includes local bands and singers, dances and a nationally recognised artist as a main attraction. An active outdoor children's arena provides fun activities like confidence courses, an obstacle course and artist face painting. All free. The night ends with a signature unique narrated fireworks display that embodies the nativity story, set to music and displayed visually in the sky.
